  • In chapter 9 Brian Green discusses the "Higgs Field" (aka the "Higgs Particle"). When the book was published in 2004 the existence of this field was a matter of speculation, although it was certainly favored by the most popular theories. In 2012 the discovery of the Higgs Particle was announced and the 2013 Nobel Prize was awarded to two of the theorists who developed the idea.
